Every Pokémon plays with the averaged stats of the footballers it's paired with in the dex. Better shooting slows the aim, steadies the shot and widens the power sweet spot. Miss the target or the green and the keeper dives at the ball: the slower the shot, the further he gets. Only a shot tucked right into a corner beats him then, for 1 point. Better keepers reach further.
